What works for the working writer?

I have been fascinated lately by the creative process and its rituals. I have been wondering about the habits of successful writers. It turns out that many didn't do their best work at desks or even at coffee shops.
They wrote standing up. I had heard about Hemingway, but he was hardly the only one.
As a recent inductee into the writing community, I seek inspiration and direction from others. So what follows is a series of snapshots from writers about their favourite writing places and habits. I hope it is useful.
And click on the button below to see a story about famous writers who did their best work on their feet.

I carry too much gear for my own good.

But I'm  ready to write or report from almost anywhere, anytime.

    Sometimes the batteries give out.

    So far, my back hasn't.
